Teen Wolf: 6×07 ‘Heartless’
The final season of Teen Wolf is here. Rather than doing recaps of episodes this season, we will be pointing out some key moments and predictions. So join us as we try to “remember” with episode 7 titled “Heartless.”
Father Knows Best
Peter Hale is back this episode after taking an episode hiatus while resting at Beacon Hills hospital. His beauty sleep is quickly interrupted when Malia and Melissa pay him a visit. They give Peter an injection of herbs that heals his burned skin and has the werewolf back to his true form.
Knowing Peter’s life was spared by his daughter, Malia, he takes it upon himself to save her and only her from the Ghost Riders. Malia has no intention on leaving Stiles behind. This leads Peter to tell Malia that she needs a new anchor and learn to care for herself. This is a very familiar Peter Hale trait and survival tactic for this disloyal werewolf. Still, he shares weakness for his daughter offering himself to the Ghost Riders in order to save her.
Peter must have some luck on his side! Just when the Ghost Riders had closed in and Peter began to wolf out did the Ghost Riders leave. Thanks to dying cries of a Ghost Rider, Peter is spared for now.
My thoughts about Peter Hale still remains the same. I believe fans are seeing lapses of his humanity when it comes to his daughter. Malia is making him a little softer and I get the feeling he will sacrifice his life to keep her safe.
A Family Reunion
Lydia begins to think about Claudia and her existence in relation to Noah Stilinski. She believes that Noah has created Claudia in order to fill the void left behind when Stiles was taken by The Wild Hunt. Noah reaches out to Lydia after he peels away the wallpaper and discovers the vacant room hidden behind it.
Noah is open to Lydia and requests that she share with him what she knows about Stiles and the room. Slowly she begins to see the vacant room fill with pieces of Stiles’s room, from his bed, desk and evidence boards than lastly, his lacrosse jersey and helmet. Clutching his lacrosse jersey in her hands, she inhales his scent in unbelief and yearning.
However, when she turns back around to Noah to show him the jersey, Noah looks confused as she stands with something imaginary in her hands. Lydia stands her ground, assuring Stiles is real and beckons Noah to believe when she tosses the jersey to him which appears in his hands. Next episode we see Noah on the hunt to bring his son back that will cause tension with Claudia. The more he believes the more she fades away or reveals her true supernatural form.
Dislikes About the Episode
- The end of the episode seemed very thrown together. Taking away from key moments fans were hoping to have between Noah and Lydia. As well as more focus on Mr. Teen Wolf himself, Scott McCall. Instead the writers of Teen Wolf opted to throw Theo and the newest villain (nobody wants on the show), Garrett Douglas/The Nazi Werewolf together. Making for one confusing scene where Douglas all of sudden has a “German” accent and kills the captured Ghost Rider to eat his pineal gland. He than leaves with the Ghost Rider’s whip to capture Corey. My thoughts about this development is that Garret is trying to take over the world or create his own Wild Hunt. Still I believe his role is completely unnecessary to the storyline and the season itself. The Ghost Riders are villainess enough and with “hellish” like themes the writers really could have ran with demons or the devil himself reigning terror over Beacon Hills.
