Teen Wolf 5B: Trailer Breakdown
Teen Wolf dropped the second trailer from Season 5B properly titled ‘From Hell and Back’
So today Teen Wolf launched the second trailer for the widely anticipated Season 5B. The trailer did not disappoint and showed fans more then they expected. Here’s what I took away from the 1:42 trailer.
A New Villain:
Rumors were smashed after the reveal of the mural with two supernatural creatures at war with another. One notably the Hellhound [Jordan Parrish] and the other The Beast of Gévaudan . Fans believed that the mural depicted a showdown between the Hellhound and Scott McCall. I guess time will tell who is The Beast of Gévaudan . All we know about this creature is that the arrival will cause more strife for Scott and his hopefully mended pack. Also Theo asked Deaucalion advice on how to harbor The Beast of Gévaudan’s powers, but he may not be the only one. Looks like the Dread Doctors have the same agenda, as it is assumed that they have resurrected The Beast of Gévaudan in the Season 5a finale. Let’s not forget that the reference back to season 1 in the episode entitled “Heart Monitor” featured The Beast of Gévaudan. Allison Argent learns about her family history and discovers her ancestor had killed the beast.
Return of Past Villains:
We saw not one, but three season past villains. Season 2 Gerard Argent, is back and teaming up with Christ Argent. Seems practical for Scott to call in Chris to assist him with the dread doctors, The Beast of Gévaudan and other looming threats [The desert wolf and Theo Raeken]. Jeff Davis leaked a spoiler that two Argents would be returning to Beacon Hills. To everyone’s surprise, the other Argent was none other that Gerard. Gerard being an experienced hunter, seemed fitting to bring him in to help with the many threats to Beacon Hills.
Leading to the second return villain, Deaucalion. Gerard and Deaucalion have bad blood between them. So once again this is a perfect re-tie in of characters back onto the show. Also the fact that Deaucalion is a Demon Wolf, might prove vital with information about the Hellhound and The Beast of Gévaudan .
Season 4 villain, Meredith makes an appearance in the trailer as well. However her reveal is less pleasant, as her chest is thrashed open by what looks to be Theo.
The Plan To Save Lydia:
Last we saw Lydia, she was left in the woods in a state of paralysis. After Theo forcefully stuck his claws into her neck and spinal nerves to retrieve the memories on the Nemeton. Lydia is admitted into Eichen House [that is to be believed by her own mother] to recover. Scott is able to get Stiles to enact his plan to save Lydia, as Stiles is the only one to save her due to Eichen house’s supernatural barrier. Fans and Stydia shippers got to enjoy glimpses at Stiles rescuing Lydia from Eichen House. Looks like Lydia will be saved, but at a cost. During a previous scene we see her screaming while being restrained by Stiles, Scott and Deaton. In the previous trailer, we see that Lydia is tortured by being drilled in the head by Dr. Valack. Claiming to have amplified her abilities. Looks like Deaton was accessing her wounds in that scene.
