Teen Wolf released the promo for season 5b, along with a premiere date, January 5, 2016. Yes you heard right, Teen Wolf season 5b will premiere on a different day [Tuesday] and time 9 p.m.

The season 5b promo contained many spoilers with the return of familiar faces and villains. I was excited to see the return of the Oni that caused chaos in Beacon Hills in season 3b. Fans are stirring with theories that the nogistune could make a return. Even though that is a theory, we do have another confirmed supernatural villain that will be making a return to Beacon Hills.

Deucalion was revealed in season 3a as a demon wolf and leader of the Alpha Pack. After the Darach [Jennifer Blake] was defeated by the help of Scott McCall and Derek Hale, he was asked to leave Beacon Hills and never return. Looks like he will be making his way back to Beacon Hills and seems fitting after we learned Jordan Parrish is a Hellhound. Will the demon wolf and hellhound become a team? Will they be the new power house to wreak havoc on Beacon Hills? I guess we will have to tune in to see what Jeff Davis has in store.

Lastly, we see a familiar face and a fan favorite, Chris Argent’s triumphant return. Chris is back after Scott called him to Beacon Hills for help. I am happy to see this duo working hand and hand again. I am curious to know what Chris will bring to the pack and how they will take down the Dread Doctors.

Other than the reveal of returning characters, I would like to take the time to talk about the promo and share some thoughts. Lydia is revealed as the girl in the river [originally I thought the girl was Theo’s sister in a previous teaser photo] going through a memory of what happened that fateful night. Later in the promo we see her grabbed by someone in the water. I am thinking that the hand belongs to none other than Theo’s sister. During a conversation between Lydia and the Doctor at Eichen House, she revealed that Theo is the “The last kind.” I am curious to know exactly what “Last Kind” means and learn more about Theo Raeken.

Lydia’s powers are amplified after her head is drilled into, I am worried for everyone’s favorite Banshee. We are hoping she makes it out of Eichen House intact mentally and physically. Jeff Davis revealed during panel at New York Comic Con:

“-ultimately it’s up to Stiles to get Lydia out of Eichen House.”  -Jeff Davis on 5b

Stydia [Stiles and Lydia ship name] took to social media in a frenzy about the statement. I am looking forward to that episode and how the rescue unfolds.

Scott and Stiles continue to be at odds in the promo with an intense fight scene between the two best friends. Further into the promo we see a lot of Sciles [Scott and Stiles bromance name] together trying to solve what is going on around him. We are hoping overtime they can forgive each other and know they are stronger when they are on the same team.
