Teen Wolf: 5 Highlights Of The Mid-Season Finale
No one is safe, the resurrection has begun and Theo Raeken is up to no good. Here are our highlights of the mid-season finale
1. A hidden prophecy of things to come in Part 2 of Season 5?
In the last minutes of the season five mid-season finale, the Dread Doctors smashed a wall in an abandoned building to reveal a mural of two supernatural creatures in battle. Is this a premonition of things to come? One can speculate the showdown will be between the Hellhound (Jordan Parrish) and the one True Alpha (Scott McCall). Is this battle brought fourth by the ‘Dread Doctors’ and what is their role in Part 2?
2. Lydia left in the woods paralyzed
Lydia is the mid-season finale was left paralyzed in the woods by Theo. She lays motionless to watch the resurrection of the chimeras (Tracy, Corey, Josh, and Hayden). Fans quick to place pieces of the Jeff Davis’s Teen Wolf puzzle together, place Lydia’s admission into Eichen House after Theo forces his claws into her brain to find the Nemeton. Lydia Martin had a rough year and during Part 1 of season 5. Fans have seen her near death after a chimera attack by Tracy, had her tongue ripped out in a dream, hitting her head onto the floor after a hallucination, getting roughly smacked by Theo that left her unconscious and lastly being claw in the brain forcefully. Fans are worried for the shows favorite Banshee and we are too.
3. Hayden’s death and resurrection
If you did not shed tears for Hayden during the mid-season finale, we hope you have more of a heart then Theo Raeken. Hayden begged for her sister to be by her side in her finale moments. Liam was by her side until Scott’s lack of response to his love’s request, after which he went on the hunt for Scott. This led to a very long and heated battle between the two. Liam, too consumed in his anger and the effects of the super moon, missed out on being there for Hayden in her final moments. Hayden cried as her life slipped away with mercury tears, dying alone with no one she loved beside her. Liam only returns too late to take his first love in his arms before Parrish came to collect her corpse. This scene hit home for Teen Wolf fans, with the death of two prior first loves, Paige and Allison from previous seasons. While fans mourned the loss of Hayden, they were in shock in the last ten minutes of the finale to see her resurrected by Theo.
4. Mason is Liam’s anchor
Teen Wolf has a theme with anchors for the supernatural. Allison in season 1 was thought to be Scott’s anchor, until season 3 after the couple broke up and Scott felt he lost control of his wolf. Scott was reminded by his mother, “To be your own anchor.” A quote that now has lived on past the show and taken into the hearts of many fans, to be “Their own anchor.” Fans speculated that Lydia Martin was Jackson Whittmore’s anchor as well. This theme was addressed with Liam and Mason, when Mason comes to bare the bad news to Liam, only to find his best friend slashing at a defeated Scott McCall’s face. Mason calls out for Liam and after a few attempts, gets Liam to calm down to hear his message.

5. The Welcome Back Of A Familiar Face
Fans were waiting for the reveal of Braeden, after behind the scene photos were seen on social media of actress Meagan Tandy on set. Jeff Davis revealed that he wanted Braeden to be back in season 5, but postponed her return. Braeden made her entrance the best way she knows how, holding a gun and shooting supernatural baddies. Braeden’s return comes on the trial of the ‘Desert Wolf’ making their way back to Beacon Hills to enact her plan to kill Malia. Braeden has been mentioned time to time during the season by Stiles in episode 3 and later with Malia as the two go on the hunt for answers about the ‘Desert Wolf.’ Braeden in the finale of season 4 took off with Derek to hunt down the illusive ‘Desert Wolf.’ With her return, fans were in a frenzy with hopes that Derek Hale would be making an appearance in the mid-season finale. Being left short, there are rumors and speculations for a cameo by everyone’s favorite Hale wolf in Part 2.
