Ryn tells the story of a Siren that fell in love with a human. The female Siren spent her life on land and created a family. The child was a dangerous hybrid causing the Siren to kill their child in the woods. Leading the human to become crazed and once the Siren returned to the ocean. The human hunted for her, killing all Sirens that he came across. “The water was red,” Ryn said as she told the story.
Fearing that history with repeat itself with Ryn and Ben. The Sirens that came to land with Donna have their own agenda, to kill Ryn. Going against Donna’s order to retrieve Ryn and bring her back to the ocean (alive). Donna is betrayed by her Siren friends and takes a stand against the Sirens to protect her sister. Forcing Donna to blindly trust Ben and those that Ryn call “friends” to keep her sister alive.
Ryn knows blood will be spilled and to stay alive she will need to kill the two Sirens. Donna informs her sister that by killing the Sirens, Ryn can never return to the ocean and must create a life with Ben. The Sirens take their battle to the streets where Sheriff Bishop is injured and War has been declared on Bristol Cove. Ryn is able to defeat one of the Sirens in hand to hand combat. Making her the new dominant female of the Sirens. Ryn uses this power to force the Sirens into submission.
But just when the war is over, Xander appears ready to fulfill his revenge and kill the Siren responsible for killing his father. Ben tries to stop him and deflects his shot, unfortunately hitting Donna. Now her life hangs in the balance as the Siren is too weak to return to the ocean and will die without medical help. Leading Ben and Ryn to make the risky call to Dr. Decker to save Donna.
