The fight to protect Jace and bring him out of possession rest on Alec, Isabelle, Magnus, and Clary. However, Clary is in a bit of a predicament as she is being held prisoner by The Clave. Magnus knows the only way for them to bring back Jace is through the power of the Parabatai Bond. The Warlock is wary of the risky plan and to put Alec in danger again. Recalling the last time he used his Parabatai Bond to save Jace, Alec nearly died.

To ensure the safety of Alec and a more optimistic outcome, Magnus enlists the help of Isabelle to enter Jace’s mind to bring him back from possession. After a failed first attempt, Isabelle brings down the Malicah Configuration shield and chains Jace up in order to complete the mission to hijack Jace’s mind.

Once in Isabelle and Alec stumble upon a young Jace at the institute. The memory is bittersweet as the Lightwood’s recall the night in which they declared their sibling motto, “Three go in, three come out.” The touching reclamation is disrupted when young Alec and Isabelle disappear into ash. A frightened young Jace takes off and the Lightwood siblings follow in pursuit only to be spilt up.

Isabelle finds young Jace and to prove that she is someone to trust. She sings a lullaby that was sung to them when they were kids. Alec is lead to a dark room with various corpses of Clary sprawled over the room. A distraught Jace kneeling on the floor as he morns the death of Clary. After seeing Alec, Jace instinctively seeks shelters in the arms of his friend, Alec.

The reunion of Parabatais forces the mirage set by The Owl to fade. Just in time for young Jace and present Jace to unite. Jace knows that there is no bringing him back, not without a cost and begs for his adoptive siblings to kill him. Isabelle reaffirms the trio’s motto and declines Jace’s wish to kill him. Jace begs one last time for Alec and Isabelle to protect him from Lillith. Sadly his wish is unfulfilled when Lillith attacks Magnus and steals Jace back.

Notable Moments

• Clary faces judgment and awaits her sentence by The Clave. Thanks to The Soul sword, Clary tells the truth about Jace and her wish to Angel Ezeil. Landing her the sentence of death. But don’t worry for the shadowhunter sweetheart. Luke and Maryse may be able to convince The Clave to pardon Clary.
• Lilith in rage transports Jonathan’s body and goes on the hunt for the Seelie Queen after Simon attacks her disciples. Lilith kills the Seelie Guards and orders the Seelie Queen to remove her protective blessing on Simon. To which the Seelie Queen offers her a deal for her life. The whereabouts of Lilith’s precious Owl.
• Maia may need a bit of the truth herself when it comes to her feelings for Jordan. Despite Simon’s open invites of communication. Maia continues to sweep the unresolved feelings about Jordan under the rug Leading Maia to nearly shift and form distance between herself and Simon.
