Shadowhunters 3×06: “A Window Into An Empty Room”
Luke and Clary are on the hunt to track down The Owl in hopes to learn of its master. Clary enlist the help of Magnus to help track down the demon that killed Angel Ithuriel. The Warlock offers to tap into the spot where the demon attacked Clary and realizes that the energy signature is the same as the one that tried to corrupt the Ley Lines. Magnus with a flick of his wrist sends off a message to Brother Zachariah to help identify the beast responsible.
Magnus and Clary meet with Brother Zachariah to receive documents to help with their hunt. Clary realizes that Jace lied to her and never made it to The Silent City for treatment after asking Brother Zachariah. Clary mentions to Magnus about her built up concern for Jace. Further explaining to Magnus that she sensed a change in Jace that felt distant even when they embrace. Magnus quickly pieces together a connection with the lady he helped with an extraction potion and Jace’s strange behavior. To be certain, Clary, Magnus, and Luke track down The Owl in hopes to intercept the demon from killing another mundane. A battle ensues to try and save Luke’s partner (the last sacrifice) and capture The Owl to reveal its Master’s true identity. However, the trio is thrown off guard when Jace reveals himself as The Owl and escapes.
Meanwhile, Simon meets his ultimate vampire fangirl, Heidi. The eager fledging was excited to meet he sire. However, Simon is less than enthused to meet her as he is completely unaware of her survival and turn. He makes a call to Rafael to help sort out the mess.
Simon sets up a rendezvous with Rafeal and is surprised to see Heidi waiting for him. Quickly Simon asks about Rafael’s whereabouts. To which Heidi explains to Simon that she was tortured by him to see if she too was a daylight walker like her sire. Simon being the nicest vampire around offers a shoulder to cry on. However, Heidi and her single white female antics attempts to kiss Simon and is rejected. Leaving Heidi in stage three clinger mode to the point of attacking Isabelle who she assumes is Simon’s girlfriend. The ever-diligent Simon pleads for Isabelle to spare Heidi’s life and that he vows to take care of the fledgling. Being a man of his word, Simon tricks Heidi into rehabilitation with the help of The Praetor Lupus.
The conflict of immortality continues to weigh heavy for both Magnus and Alec in their relationship. Alec can’t shake the idea of a future where he becomes a memento in Magnus’s box. Hurtful words are exchange by both, causing Alec to make an early exit from morning breakfast. Guess calling Alec a child is where he draws the line. Rather than having an adult conversation and working through their relationship.
The fight is not something to tread lightly on as there are obstacles that await Malec in the form of Underhill. With the flirtation by Underhill and the uneasy feeling of betrayal looming on the horizon. Alec finds vulnerable after having far too many Magnus inflicted drinks. Divulging to Underhill about his relationship woes that may be interpreted by Underhill as a chance to make his move.
Notable Moments
- Maryse Lightwood returns to the New York Institute after being deruned. Despite her tough and optimistic demeanor, Maryse struggles with her new life. Isabelle decides that a family night is in order. Maryse while out with her family finds an old friend from her past. Luke offers his condolences to Maryse about her derunning. As he too had experienced the same pain before. The two share some flirtatious laughs and smiles at another of what could be the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Who else is aborad this ship?
