Magnus has tea with Lilith herself where they talk extraction potions. Magnus believes that the mysterious woman needs the potion for her own lover. Unaware that this woman (Lilith) is going to use the extraction potion to erase Jace’s love for Clary. Jace talks to Clary about going to The City Of Bones to seek help from the Silent Brothers about his recent behaviors. Clary decides to take matters into her own hands to save Jace by seeking out an Iron Sister. She confides in Luke about what happened at Lake Lyn and Angel Raziel bringing Jace to life. Clary enlists Luke’s help to seek out Cleophas to talk to the Angels for assistance.

Malec continues to give fans the domestic life feels. From swapping each other’s clothes to Alec’s proposition to move in together. Magnus is quick to decline the request claiming that they need to slow down their relationship. Alec is confused about Magnus’s quick decision to pump the brakes on their relationship and finds an old memory box. Inside there are mementos of former lovers throughout his immortal life.

Alec apologies to Magnus about going through his box and brings up one of Magnus’s former loves, George. Magnus gets emotional as he talks about outliving his loves and being immortal. To which Alec declares his love for Magnus and his hope to have his arrowhead added to his box. Magnus explains to Alec that he wants to enjoy what they have and that moving in with another is not a good idea. An immortal life without Malec hardly feels like a life at all. Here’s hoping they get a full life of love or perhaps an immortal one.

Lilith summons a “hellhound” to sniff out and retrieve a sliver of Clary’s soul. However, after a failed attempt Lilith decides to get her hands dirty (literally) to finish the job. Clary summons the Angel Ithuriel, she learns that what is happening to Jace is not a side-effect of him being resurrected. However, Jace is vulnerable to other threats. The Angel warns Clary of the great evil, “The Great Owl’s” Master. Angel Ithuriel is killed by Lilith before he is able to give Clary a name, leaving the shadowhunter vulnerable to Lilith. After successfully retrieving the missing ingredient Lilith serves the extraction potion to Jace, resuming power over the shadowhunter once again and possibly erasing his love for Clary.

Notable Moments

• Simon and Jace work together in hopes to resolve Simon’s head glowing abilities. Always the skeptic of others, Jace believes that Simon’s new buddy, Kyle is hiding something. After snooping around Kyle’s room Jace discovers wolfsbane and calls Kyle out for being a werewolf. Kyle tells Simon and Jace that he is a member of the Praetor Lupus, assigned to watch over the daylighter (Simon).
• Isabelle has a date with a mundane and it was one of the most awkward dates in the series. Not just by the dinner conversation, she cut her date short to fight off a demon. Guess she won’t be borrowing items from Clary’s closet again.
