September is here, which means new releases and if there had to be a themes for September we would say they are documentaries and adaptations. Catch what we think are the September standout films.
The Light Between Oceans
Years following World War I, Tom Sherbourne (Michael Fassbender), a young veteran still numb from his years in combat, takes a job as a lighthouse keeper on Janus Rock, a remote island off the coast of Western Australia. As the island’s sole inhabitant, he finds comfort in the monotony of the chores and the solitude of his surroundings. When he meets the daughter of the school’s headmaster, Isabel Graysmark (Alicia Vikander), in the local town of Partageuse on the mainland, Tom is immediately captivated by her beauty, wit and passion, and they are soon married and living on the island. As their love flourishes, he begins to feel again, their happiness marred only by their inability to start a family. So when a rowboat with a dead man and infant girl mysteriously washes ashore, Isabel believes their prayers may have finally been answered. Sully

He lands the plane safely on the surface of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 passengers on board (plot version by variety.com). This biographical drama based on true events will land in theaters on September 9, 2016.
Snowden
Snowden is the untold personal story of Edward Snowden, who exposed shocking illegal surveillance activities by the NSA and became one of the most wanted men in the world. The story of why he did it, who he left behind, and how he pulled it off makes for one of the most compelling films of the year that you can’t miss! The Magnificent Seven
This western remake is based on the town of Rose Creek which is under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard).
