A 90’s cliche comedy mixed with current humor on social media trends. Add in a sorority of mean girls and a red devil slasher, and you get the falls new hit series, Scream Queens . 

*Warning Spoilers Ahead*

Scream Queens kicked off Tuesdays fall line up with a two hour premiere, and an encore presentation on Thursday. The opening scene takes place in 1995, during a Kappa Kappa Tau party. One of the sorority sisters comes out with bloody hands, and is quick to lead her sisters to the source. There they discover a sister had given birth in a bathtub. The Kappa Kappa Tau sisters, too into the party to call an ambulance, decide to leave their to sister to go dance to “Waterfalls” by TLC.  They discover later that their sister bled to death upon their return.

Fast forward to present day Kappa Kappa Tau where we meet the Chanels. KKT is ruled by Chanel Oberlin (Emma Roberts) and her minions Chanel #2 (Ariana Grande), Chanel #3 (Billie Lourd) and Chanel #5 (Abigail Breslin). The Chanels are reminiscent to Regina and her squad of mean girls.  Chanel #2 portrays the ditzy one but attractive girl, Chanel #3 plays the dumb one, and lastly, Chanel #5 is the one in the group that idealizes and worships Chanel (even slaps herself to appease the Chanel Queen).

We are introduced to other characters that push and move the storyline. There is the freshman on campus, Grace Gardner (Skyler Samuels) who lost her mother when she was young, which leaves viewers wondering if she was the baby delivered at KKT in 1995.  Lastly, the misfit pledges of KKT played by Lea Michele , Keke Palmer, and Whitney Meyer. KKT has a slasher stalker donning a ‘Red Devil’ costume. Throughout the episodes, you see the Red Devil stalking around campus, and killing KKT sisters in the process.

Some of the other characters to keep an eye on are: Pete Martinez (Diego Boneta) the campus mascot that is the ‘Red Devil’ so to speak. He is also the campus barista with a hate for KKT, and Chanel Oberlin (from past history). Dean Kathy Munsch (Jaime Lee Curtis), a newly placed Dean, who sleeps with her students, and has some secrets of her own. Chanel revealed to Grace that Dean Munsch had a role in the cover up of the bathtub incident, after Grace was caught for snooping around the KKT secret room. Boone (Nick Jonas) the best friend of Chanel’s on again/off again boyfriend Chad Radwell (Glenn Powell). Boone has a crush on Chad, and has not come out to his fraternity brothers. While working out and admiring his own physique, he is killed by the Red Devil. Only to be revealed alive and that his death was a hoax. Wes Gardner (Oliver Hudson) seems too overbearing and worried for his daughter then most dads should. Sure this may seem obvious to viewers, but we are curious to know exactly what the Gardner family storyline is about.
