The dead body Ravi is going over at the morgue is an arson victim named Dr. Eleanor Cash. She was a scientist, a researcher for Nescott Laboratories. She had been hired to test a new acne medication, and one of the test subjects had a bad reaction. Her name was Annie Rosine and she sued Dr. Cash who was fired in shame.

Blaine shows up at the morgue, reverted back to his zombie state. He has come there to get a brain for food. Ravi tells him about New Hope, one of the test rat zombies, and how she reverted back to a zombie, which was followed by decline and then death. He expresses he has more tainted utopium that he is working on.

Liv and Clive go to talk to Annie. Her appearance isn’t what they expected as in the photo: the skin on her face had been grotesque. She tells them Dr. Cash and her partner Dr. Alan Benway had blamed each other at the trial and they had both gotten fired. There was a small settlement and it went towards Annie’s plastic surgery. She then adds that she was working a night shift during the time Dr. Cash was killed.

Major is called into Vaughn’s office as he gives him a new list of zombie names. Major states that he assumed the deal was if he cooperated that Vaughn would keep Liv out of it, and goes on to tell him that he found out that Rita was Liv’s roommate. Major then asks him if it was part of the plan to have Rita seduce him. It is then revealed that Rita is Vaughn’s daughter. She comes into the room and he takes off her glasses to see a black eye. Vaughn freaks out thinking Major did that to her and she tells him it was Liv and for Major just to go.

Blaine returns to the funeral home and Don E and Chief are there with the new shipment. He tells them how Mr. Boss slit his throat, but he bounced back obviously as a zombie. Mr. Boss believes Blaine to be dead, and he wants to have him keep thinking that. So he tells the boys to bury the shipment into a hole that use to be for Major as they are going to lay low.

Dale has Clive step aside in a room to tell him that Blaine’s dad had a cabin up in Whistler and that they finally got the Canadians to search it. They found brains in the fridge. Dale then calls the lab to confirm the size of a cow brain, and it is the revealed that on the report that they were human brains.

Liv and Clive find out where Dr. Alan Fenway is, and they question him at the pirate themed restaurant he is working at. He tells them that Dr. Cash was supposed to do the clinical interaction studies and that she must of faked the anti-anxiety medication that Annie was on because it was the only way that Annie could of had the reaction she got.

Liv then has a vision with Vaughn and Dr. Cash. She tells Clive that Dr. Cash worked for Max Rager.

Liv then goes with Clive to go and question Vaughn and is shown a picture of her. Vaughn points out that he knew her as Dr. Erving, and she did research of the energy drinks there. He then mockingly tells them they can come back as soon as they get a warrant.

Liv gets a new look, and looks as she did when she was human. She is going undercover at Max Rager so they won’t recognize her. She knows that Vaughn is up to more then he is letting on, and she goes to investigate.

Major goes to the funeral home. He gets worried as he had gotten the impression that they had longer, but with Blaine being a zombie again he knows it is only a matter of time for him. He then asks Blaine for another zombie for his freezer, Drake.

Liv then goes to be interviewed for the position that was Dr. Cash at Max Rager’s. Gwen aka Liv asks why there is an opening. The other lab techs tell her that there was a murder. It was one of Super Max Rager’s researchers. And they didn’t know her well as they didn’t have clearance to the basement which is secret, but everyone knows about it.

Liv wanders and goes into one of the elevators. She finds a bio metric identification required finger print and uses it. But it triggers an alarm as it unauthorized access. When the elevator opens Vaughn Du Clark is there waiting for her and tells her to get off the premises.

Clive has a hunch and follows up on it. Jenny Rosine, Annie’s sister, was pretending to be Annie when they had originally interviewed her. She had planned on becoming an archaeologist but ended up becoming Annie’s nurse because of how badly Annie’s face is. She admits to burning Dr. Cash alive.

Liv has another vision of a full raged zombie. She shares this with Ravi once back at the morgue. She tells him that Dr. Cash had one in captivity and that is what they must be hiding it at Max Rager.

Blaine swings by as Ravi had worked on the new cure with the buffer agent. He explains that it is a break-glass potential cure to him.

Liv has been tracking Drake’s phone all day. It is an unlisted location so she goes downtown to check it out. She finds him getting in the car with Mr. Boss.

Back at the funeral home, Blaine is eating a brain with a glass of wine on the side. He gives Don E and Chief folders with the bank accounts, safe combos, all of their customer’s information for continuing on the brain business. He is going to inject himself with the potential cure that Ravi gave him and he wants his boys to have the info in case of the event if he “kicks the bucket”. He then advises them to stay out of the utopium business as Mr. Boss is too smart and they would be in way over their heads.

Vaughn, Rita, and Dr. Lockett are down in the basement, and go over the results of the zombie on the Super Max drink. Vaughn uses the taser to poke the zombie which increases her violence and speed. She grabs the doctor and bashes his head in and Rita ends up hurting her ankle. Vaughn takes off closing the doors behind and leaving Rita behind with the zombie.

Vaughn locks himself in his office. He sees a bloodied up Rita pounding on the glass doors telling him to ‘let her in’ and all he does is stare at her and watches her walk away.

Liv is meeting Drake at the pirate themed restaurant as Ravi told her to meet him somewhere public. She wants to confront him about his side of the story of why he was with Mr. Boss. While in the parking lot though, Drake is jumped by Major with the injection.
