Syd Wicked, the victim, was found in his hotel room with his throat slit with a playing card. He was a magician that was staying there for the Prestofest convention. Clive and Liv go to talk to the maid who said she didn’t see anyone except hear him yelling about Angels.

Clive goes over the security tape with Liv seeing that no one goes in and out of Syd’s room until the maid finds Syd’s body. They are baffled as to figuring out how this is possible, and who is behind the murder and Ravi cleverly says “the murder is a magic trick”.

Liv is playing with a deck of tarot cards at the morgue, and is interrupted when Blaine pays an unexpected visit. He has come to her in seeking her help in finding the person that has been killing off the missing zombies.

Liv and Clive go to a magician’s show, Houdina. Liv is volunteered to go on stage and has a vision of Houdina wearing a wedding dress and throwing a diamond ring at Syd and calling it off. Liv is able to snatch Houdina’s deck of cards and she and Clive go over it as they are the same razor sharp as the murder weapon and one of the cards is missing.

They go to question her and she says that when Syd wanted to bring a Wiccan to perform their wedding ceremony, she got out.

Liv is on a stakeout with Blaine in front of Dale’s house. They are waiting for Dale and Clive to leave for their movie. Instead, they see Clive hugging Dale from behind and kissing her neck so Liv tells Blaine that they will have to comeback tomorrow.

They return in the morning and find the whole file on the dining room table. Blaine continues going over the files and notes that the Feds don’t know anymore than they do.  In the dropbox there is mail from FBI test lab. Blaine opens it up to find that Clive was going to find out the results from Lieutenant’s Suzuki’s fridge were human brains. Liv says she will doctor it up by changing it to say cow brains, and return it after it’s fixed up.

At the Prestofest convention, Clive and Liv question Magnus, another magician that Syd had bad blood with. Clive asks his whereabouts when Syd was killed and he explains that he was having some fun with auburn-haired in the lobby’s men’s room.

Peyton goes to see Blaine to tell him that the Boss paid her a visit, and to give him the heads up. He gives her his cell phone so she can call him the next time Boss drops by.

Ravi is going over the tweets towards Syd, and one of them is from a magic duo called Smoak and Meers. Clive goes with Liv to question them, and about the feud they had with Syd.

Liv again goes over that they know one person for sure went into Syd’s room, the maid. They go to find her, and have no further luck, but Liv says she is still in the hotel. Liv reveals Mr. Meers to actually be Irina, the maid. Smoak and Meers trick was going to be exposed, and they would be ruined like other magicians so Irina went in and slayed him with a razor sharp card. Smoak was an assistant in the murder when the mystery auburn-haired points him out when she was hired to lure Magnus away from the security cameras.

Liv returns to Dale’s house to drop off the envelope that she doctored. There is a mystery woman waiting on the opposite side in a car. That same woman later has an envelope of her own and is dropping it off.

Liv is using a Ouija board as she is still in the mind frame of the dark magician’s brain she had eaten. Major sees her chanting and disappears upstairs.
