I watched season one of Gotham, and was immediately sucked into the chaos, plot, and characters of this show. I wanted to know more, and I wanted to try to guess and see who would turn out to be who. It was exciting  for me, granted the show does have many ridiculous moments and characters.

As for season 2 Rise of the Villains, I can’t say that I am pleased thus far. I was one that was rooting for Penguin pretty much all last season, and this season he is not standing out very well, which is a pity because he is my favorite character. As for the other characters, honestly, I am a little bored and irritated. I know its only been 3 episodes so far, so maybe I just need to wait and see.

The other thing that is bothering me is, What the heck are they doing with Barbara?! What are they making her become? In the comics she is Jim Gordon’s first wife and mother of his children: one being Barbara Gordon Aka Batgirl aka Oracle, and the other being James Gordon Jr. I just don’t see how this would work out in this TV Series now that they are making her out to be a Harley Quinn type of character, which just doesn’t make sense to me. Or are you making a female Joker? If so, are you kidding me? You can’t take a classic character and change it that much. I would imagine the fans of the comics being outraged.

Lastly, why the heck would you pick a character who resembles Joker so much and then kill him? I mean come on! He had the act down perfectly. Cameron Monaghan who played Jerome not only resembled Joker, but acted like him so well that it gave me goosebumps. I don’t see how you will find a better actor to play Joker. I understand the end of the show reveals how the citizens of Gotham are in fact going mad to fit the line said by Jerome’s father Cicero, “You will be a curse to Gotham. Children will wake from sleep screaming at the thought of you. Your legacy will be death and madness.”

The ending of this episode was decent enough showing the impact Jerome had on the citizens of Gotham. I guess I was just really hoping that some how, Jerome’s eyes would appear to have life and madness in them as he lay on the coroners table and maybe when they zoomed in on his face he would blink and/or laugh hysterically.

I guess I just have to keep watching to see what they will do next.
