Cosplay Friday Highlight:
Here at Bgeekyblog we have grown to appreciate the community of cosplay. There is something special about the cosplaying community that deserves more recognition for their craft. Countless hours and hard work go into the details of bringing to life beloved characters. Your gender, physical appearance or age should never hinder you from your passion to cosplay. Cosplay is for everyone. With that ideal, we are excited to expand our highlights to the cosplay community. We are pleased to highlight Adonis Cosplay.
1.) What sparked your interest in cosplay?
I started cosplay because a friend of mine invited me to go to a convention with him, something that I had never done before. We decided that if we’re going to go then we should go all out. After the first time I was hooked.
2.) What has been your favorite character to cosplay?
My favorite character to cosplay is so hard to chose. I always say it’s whichever one I’m currently working on. But if I had to pick one I’d say Fierce Deity Link is my favorite so far. It’s got so many cool pieces and I love the character.
3.) What would be your dream cosplay?
I have 2 dream cosplay. One that I’m just about to start working on and one that there is no way I’ll be able to do for a long time. Zack Fair from Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core is the one I’m about to start. Raiden From metal gear solid 4 is a dream cosplay that I need a lot more experience in 3d printing and casting and molding before I can pull it off well.
4.) What has been the most difficult cosplay for you and why?
My most difficult cosplay so far has been my Deity Link Cosplay. I had such a limited time to do it and I used a bunch of different techniques that I had never done before. The outcome was fantastic so I’m super proud of it. But the building process was really tough.
5.) If you could reenact any scene in cosplay from any fandom, what would it be?
I have a couple in mind. I’d love to reenact the scene from Naruto where Kakashi is climbing one handed up a cliff side. I always thought that was such a cool scene. But it’s kind of dangerous and difficult so… haha. I’d also love to reenact any of the scenes from Final Fantasy XV Kingsglaive with Nyx Ulric and his teleporting abilities. The sets for that movie are so cool so I think they’d be super fun to play around with.
6.) You cosplay a lot of different fandoms. Which character (if any) would you say you relate to the most and why?
I definitely relate to Kakashi the most. He’s a ninja, and I do martial arts. He’s very laid back, so am I. He’s very kind and cares a lot about other people, which is something I believe is very important to do. So we kind of line up pretty well in terms of personality.
7.) If you could hang out with any character from any fandom, which character would you like to hang out with and why?
Zack Fair for sure. He just seems like the coolest dude ever. Super motivating and just a nice guy haha.
8.) You’ve been to a quite a few conventions in cosplay. What has been your most memorable convention moment?
The first time someone recognized me from the internet was pretty darn cool. That was a surreal moment. I just kept thinking how insane it was that people I never met before knew who I was from social media.
9.) You have a lot of useful tutorials on your youtube channel under Adonis cosplay. How long does it take to make a tutorial and what is the hardest part (if any) to the process?
The length of the tutorial depends on the complexity of the subject. If it’s a simple topic then it doesn’t take too long. If not, then it could take a couple days of filming. The hardest part is picking topics! Oh man… Topics are either pretty simple or extremely complex. There aren’t many middle of the road things with cosplay. So trying to find the right balance is tough.
10.) Kakashi Hatake is a favorite of yours to cosplay. In what battle, event, or mission (if any) would you have liked to have accompanied him on if you could?
I would have loved to join Kakashi on one of his Anbu Black Ops missions. I think that part of his life and the types of missions they would go on are so mysterious. So I would have loved to either help out or be there to experience those things with him.
11.) What advice would you give to people who are just starting out or getting back into cosplay?
For people who are starting out or getting back into it just remember that it doesn’t have to be perfect. I am a very hard critic on myself and sometimes I have to take a step back and remember that not everything I do is going to turn out 100% as I planned. But that is also the fun of it. You grow and improve over time so be ok with imperfection. You have to just jump in and start. Don’t let your skill level, or lack of, hold you back from starting. Pick something and have fun with it!
