Season 4 Mid-Season Finale leaves a gut wrenching hit, as member of Team Arrow’s fate hang in the bounds. 

****SPOILERS AHEAD****

The writers of Arrow have delivered in seasons past,  mid-season hooks that gave the die hard Arrow fans the excitement for the return of season after holiday/winter break hiatus. However this time, fans are outpouring with worry and sadness for a fan favorite that may not make it past January 20, 2016 return date.

The mid-season finale kicked off on the Oliver Queen campaign. Oliver being a man of his word heads the cleaning up of the Star City bay. His campaign manager and his most trusted allies [Felicity, Diggle, Laurel and Thea] join on on the clean up. Their momentary good deed is quickly interrupted by Ghost with a drone raining bullets at innocent victims.

Luckily Team Arrow is left unscathed and innocent people severely wounded with no casualties Thanks to the wit of Felicity Smoak hacking into the drones system. Oliver still haunted by the  incident that too place during his charity work for the bay. Oliver upset by the incident and the potential threat to not only those around him but innocent victims. Forces him to come forward to expose H.I.V.E and leader of Ghost, Damien Darhk to the people of Star City and though out media.

Oliver’s risky move causes him to cancel his holiday party at his campaign headquarters. Thea believes that him cancelling the event is showing Damien Darhk that he fears him. So in conclusion he decides to through the holiday party. Which soon he would regret when Damien Dark reigns on his party with fear. Taking three of the people he cares most about; Diggle, Thea and Felicity.

The three are taken into Damien Darhk’s custody, Arrow going into a rage hunting down for his extended family. Trusting in others to assist him and even trusting Malcom to help save those he cares about. Malcom proving to Oliver to be a more season and resourceful ally in dealing with Damien Dark.  Team Arrow is able to escape Damien Darhk’s grasps. Felicity and Oliver are reunited and have a heart to heart while in captivity about Oliver postponed engagement plans [her line about marriage in gif form below]

Felicity’s heart to heart strikes a nerve with Oliver and during a ceremonial tee lighting at the bay. Oliver proposes to Felicity amongst friends, family, and Star City residents. Sadly their engagement bliss is shattered when members of Ghost block in their limo. Unleashing rounds of ammunition at the limo from all directions [to a holiday song that will forever haunt Olicity fans]. In a last resort stint to save them both, Oliver drives the limo through the shower of bullets and to safety.

Once in the clear, he discovers Felicity bleeding and unconscious. He pulls her out of the limo and into the street, calling out her name. Viewers watching tearfully as Oliver cradles her in his arms. Reminded of the first episode of season 5 scene with Barry and Oliver standing at a grave. Could this be the end of Felicty and the fandom ship Olicity? I guess we will have to find out January 20th.
