Oliver Queen
Oliver Queen is on the hunt for Damien Darhk after his limo was shot up by H.I.V.E at Darhk’s orders. Oliver tracks down members of H.I.V.E (ghost) to retrieve information on Darhk’s whereabouts after finding out that he has gone into hiding after the incident. Fans of the series notice quickly how Oliver had reverted to his old ways as seen in season 1, when Oliver went on a killing rampage with crooked individuals of Star City.
Oliver being crazed for his revenge on Darhk takes him away from being there for the one person that needed him the most, Felicity Smoak.
Viewers quickly learn Felicity’s fate in the first five minutes of the episode. Sure the alluding death scene with Barry and Oliver standing over an unknown grave caused worry for Arrow fans. As this scene was all too familiar, shown from episode 1 of this season, Felicity is alive and still has her sarcasm. This is something that fans loved to see despite the hell she had to endure and fight to stay alive. Sadly, Felicity did not come out of the incident unscathed: after two surgeries we find out that the damage caused to her spinal cord could not be reversed. Felicity is given the grave news that she will never be able to walk again.
Olicity
Felicity and Oliver have the odds stacked against them after the shooting. Felicity tries her best to be hopeful despite her condition. She fears for Oliver, noticing his lack of visits to see her. She fears that Oliver has regressed to his old ways, and he wouldn’t love her anymore. Felicity never wanted to be viewed as weak and her new condition causes her to fear for her relationship with Oliver.
Oliver reminds her of the vow he made when he proposed to her, “For better or for worse.” Oliver and Felicity, throughout the episode, are reminded of the promises they made. Time will tell if the physical wounds will survive the emotional wounds. Seen in the last scene of the episode, Oliver and Felicity are back in a limo at what looks to be after a funeral. Looking closely at the scene, you can tell that both Felicity and Oliver are broken. Also we assume that Felicity and Oliver’s relationship is on the rocks, as we see no engagement ring on her finger.
A Funeral
Safe to say one of the members of Team Arrow will fall by the end of this season at the hands of Damien Darhk. We know that Felicity is now, for the time being, safe. Keep in mind as well that Barry was at the funeral as well. Leaving all remaining members of Team Arrow The Canary, Diggle and Thea at risk for possible death. I believe that the fallen member will be none other than John Diggle. We have seen the growing storyline with Diggle and his brother. The writers of Arrow have been slowing building the Diggle brother’s storyline this season. I guess we will see if the Diggle brothers will be able to salvage and survive their brotherhood.
Thea Queen
Thea reveals to Laurel about her bloodlust being relieved after she was attacked by Damien Darhk. She still does not know why or how her bloodlust was slowly taken away. All she knows is that Darhk is the root to getting rid of her bloodlust once and for all. Thea, through out this season, has a hard time keeping her bloodlust at bay. In one incident she almost killed Anarky, and faces off with him again this episode.
Anarky is creepily intrigued by Speedy (Thea Queen) and beckons her to let her bloodlust free. Thea is able to fight back her bloodlust despite the grueling trials she faces through out the season: being in constant battle with Ghost, H.I.V.E, Damien Darhk and the low lives of Star City just to name a few. Unfortunately, Anarky gets free and I have the feeling this won’t be the last we see of him.
