Neflix 2018 Holiday Films Ranked

The Holiday Calendar (Nice List)

For all those romantic holiday film fans, The Holiday Calendar was an enchanting film that will be on my nostalgic holiday movies list. The Holiday Calendar is a sweet surprise of realism. Following the life of Abby Sutton (Kat Graham) an aspiring photographer that finds herself muted in her creativity and lackluster job. Until her grandfather (Ron Cephas Jones) gifts her an enchanted advent calendar that once belonged to her grandmother. Leading Abby on an adventure of self-discovery and love. The Holiday Calendar has all the ingredients for the perfect holiday romance

A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding (Naughty List)

While the prequel, A Christmas Prince is a charming romantic holiday classic. The sequel, however, is flat-out terrible! From the lack of chemistry between the royal couple. In fact the royal wedding itself was a sub plot and by the end of the film viewers were long tuned out of the nuptials. From the over the top cheesy dialogue, stereotypical characters, and predictable plot lines this film was anything but royal.  Netflix should get a large lump of coal for this hot mess express!

The Christmas Chronicles (Nice List)

This jolly ole’ Christmas adventure has a lot of excitement on the quest to save Christmas that appeals tween and adults alike. Sure the film may not be for every family or younger children with the dark untoned storyline of the loss of a family member. Siblings, Kate (Darby Camp) and Teddy (Judah Lewis) devise a plan to catch a glimpse of Santa Klaus (Kurt Russell). Leading them on the most ambitiously cheesy adventure where they learn the true spirit of Christmas.

The Princess Switch (Nice and Naughty List)

If you are a sucker for those cliché overly cheesy romantic holiday films, The Princess Switch is the film for you. However, I found myself on the fence about the film as I could not get over Vanessa Hudgens’s terrible accent as Duchess of Montenaro, Margaret. Also the predictability of film allowed audiences to meander through the whirlwind romance storyline just because who doesn’t love a Princess romantic film. This film is terribly good for all the right reasons, it’s a classic ‘cheesy’ holiday film for all ages.
