Attack on Titan Season 3 trailer review
Attack on Titan season 3 is just around the corner and fans got a tantalizing look at the season in a recent trailer that has dropped. Here are my thoughts on what was shown in the trailer!
On April 27th, Funimation dropped a subtitled trailer for the new season of Attack on Titan that is scheduled to be aired in July. Here is the trailer put out by funimation:
Now anime only fans got a good look into the secondary character’s back stories and lives in the second season as well as some devastating betrayals. But one of the things that was sorely missing in the second season was badass Levi who had to sit out for most of the action due to an injury. Well, Attack on Titan fans season 3 will not let you down as it will be Levi centric.
As for myself, I have read the manga, and I know just which arcs they will be focusing on. I will do my best not to give away any spoilers other than what has been seen in the trailer. If you didn’t already love Levi in the previous seasons, this season will definitely drive home just how badass, no fucks given Levi is, but fans will see a darker side of Levi come out if they cover what I think they’ll cover and that is all I will say on that front.
And fans did get their first look at Kenny. Kenny is quite the showstopper character in the manga. So all you anime only fans get ready for a wild ride. As it stated in the trailer, Kenny is someone from Levi’s past so fans will get into more of Levi’s past as what has been shown in the No Regrets OVA which only covered a certain portion of Levi’s past. There is a reason Levi is as badass as he is, and I hope they cover all of it this upcoming season. Kenny is a major factor in this.
Another major development that is seen in the trailer is the introduction of new ODM gear that has guns versus swords, and a fight that takes place in a city. It suggests that the conflict will now no longer be between humans and titans, but humans versus other humans which is going to get a lot more interesting.
Overall, I thought this trailer was stellar. For manga readers like myself there were so many things in there that made us salivate and for anime only fans, there was a lot of tantalizing and new aspects being thrown in there. This arc in the manga was my favorite since I was such a Levi fan girl.
Attack on Titan season 3 will air July 22nd in Japan and come to the United States shortly after and this fan can’t wait!
