Teen Wolf: 6×01 Thoughts and Predictions
The final season of Teen Wolf is here. Rather than doing recaps of episodes this season, we will be pointing out some key moments to “Remember” and predictions. So join us as we work out the emotional premiere, “Memory Lost.”
The Wild Hunt
There’s a new villain in Beacon Hills this season, The Ghost Riders. The gun weilding, lasso whipping, supernatural cowboys are taking prisoners and wiping them from memory. They have taken a handful of Beacon Hills Residents with them already and a key member of The McCall Pack, Stiles Stilinski. However, their story is mentioned a few times in Season 5. The first time was with Kira and the Yukimuras when they are stuck in traffic during a thunderstorm.
Mr Yukimura: You know there’s a legend for a storm like this…
Kira: Dad, please don’t turn a three hour traffic jam into an educational experience.
Noshiko: He’s talking about the wild hunt, about the ghost riders. Imagine a night like this Kira, with storm clouds just like these, phantom hunters would appear, riding black horses with blood red eyes, wolves and hounds at their side baying and snarling.
Kira: What were they hunting?
Noshiko: Souls
The second mention of The Wild Hunt was by Lydia Martin when she discovers that Jordan Parrish is a hellhound. She recalls the story that Kira told her about thunderstorms and the wild hunt. Lydia refers to the Bestiary reading, “Woden’s Hunt, also known as the Wild Ride or Wild Hunt. A myth of devilish riders in the sky accompanied by black dogs, spectral beasts whose eyes glowed with fire… A Bearer of Death and Guardian of the Supernatural, the black dog is also known by its more common name, the Hellhound.” Looks like Jordan Parrish could be the cause for their arrival to Beacon Hills or perhaps this new teacher that we know is supernatural as well. Either way Jordan will play a role in The Wild Hunt!
Lydia Martin
Everyone’s favorite Banshee is very much in tune with her abilities. She senses trouble and follows her instinct to the static noise of a television. Reaching her hand out she tries to touch the scene where she gets shocked back into reality. We have seen Lydia in trailers reaching into a voided space in time. Could her ability be used to reach into other dimensions and save Stiles?
Stydia
We saved the best part of the episode for last, Stydia. Teen Wolf packed all the feels when the duo made their appearance on the show. So many things were left unsaid between the two of them mainly on Lydia’s part as she fights back her feelings for Stiles. And there were subtle hints throughout the episode, from the smiles to the constant need for human touch, and, lastly, the smirk on her face when Stiles kissed her on the cheek. Lydia will have to sort out her emotions alone now that The Wild Hunt claimed Stiles’s soul and we get the feeling this will be an emotional rollercoaster.
With Stiles taken, Lydia tries what seems to be the impossible task to keep her memories of Stiles. We have hope that our fearless Banshee will be able to REMEMBER him, but sadly we see her return to school with a blank and confused expression the day after losing Stiles. Her eyes looking around the halls, her thoughts and her gaze kept on couples. Yes, couples! Lydia is trying to remember Stiles and swore she was looking for someone. Malia and Scott come to join her with the same confused expression. This short scene already showcases Lydia Martin fight to REMEMBER Stiles. Deep down we believe that she will be the first and only one to remember Stiles due to their emotional tether and connection.
Things To Keep In Mind
- The mysterious compass found in the locker of the new teacher. Could the compass be a tool to help The Pack track down The Wild Hunt?
- The Yearbook paper that Stiles was holding through out the episode. Wonder if Stiles will fill in the pages as a clue for The Pack to REMEMBER him. In the trailer Lydia is crying against a wall while holding a paper in her hand. So could there be a memory trigger written on the paper?
