We have the daunting wait till 2019 for the final season of Game of Thrones. So to help ease the pain, here are 9 reunions we are excited for! 

1. Arya Stark and The Hound 

The last time Arya saw The Hound, she was watching him plead for her to kill him after losing his battle with Brienne of Tarth. She will be shocked not only to see him alive, but fighting alongside Jon Snow. Sansa Stark may also shine some light on The Hound’s true humility despite his dark past.

2. Bran, Arya and Jon Snow 

The three have been seperated since Season 1. Each of them have been just in reach of reuniting with another only to be seperated once again. Jon will have a lot of catching up to do when he finds out that Bran is the Three Eyed Raven and Arya a Faceless. Jon has always had a deep love for his half-siblings: battling for Winterfell to save Rickon, trusting Sansa with Winterfell knowing it was her true role, forging needle for Arya so that she may live her dream of being a knight.

For Bran the reunion may be a bit awkward as Jon has yet to find out about the Three Eyed Raven abilities of his half-brother. But also the fact that Jon is actually Aegon Targaryen, son of Lyanna Stark and and Rhaear Targaryen. This will be one interesting and unraveling of a reveal as Jon and Daenarys rocked the boat at the end of Season 7.

3. Jaime Lannnister and Arya Stark

After Jaime Lannister left Cersei in King’s Landing for her final game and betrayal, he heads North to help fight the war against the wights. He heads to, what fans presume is, Winterfell. Jaime Lannister has been high on Arya’s list and, despite a war against winter, Arya may not be able to keep her promise to allow Jaime Lannister to leave without his face.

4. Sansa Stark and The Hound 

Who else is excited for the little bird and The Hound? The last these two saw one another was after Stannis’s failed attempt to take King’s Landing. Sansa is sure to regret not taking The Hound’s offer to take her home. Now that she is Lady of Winterfell this reunion will have a bittersweet ring.

5. Arya Strak and Melisandre 

“I see a darkness in you…we will meet again.” These were the final words spoken to Arya by Melisandre before taking Gendry in Season 3. This reunion has me intrigued, as Melisandre is still on Arya’s list. Now that she has become “no one” will she be able to carry out her intent? Melisandre mentioned in Season 7 that she was on her way to Volantis.  However, her final resting place will be in Westeros. Perhaps by Arya’s hand?

6. Sansa Stark and Tyrion Lannister 

Sure their marriage was a cruel attempt by Tywin Lannister to humiliate them both, but there was a sincerity and kindness between them. Sansa Stark is no longer an immature teenager.  She has developed into a strong woman. Tyrion was always kind to her especially because of the constant torment given by King Joffrey. The two have not seen one another since the death of King Joffrey.

Tyrion is heading to Winterfell with Jon Snow and Daenerys.  This will lead to an interesting reunion as Tyrion is the hand of Daenerys and Sansa Stark made it clear her discontent of Jon Snow leaving to make an alliance with a Targaryen. Perhaps the presence of Tyrion will ease her mind. Despite having their marriage annuled to marry Ramsay Bulton (due to not conssumating the marriage), Sansa did have a genuine care for Tyrion and both admired each others’ intelligence.

7. Jon Snow and Howland Reed

Howland Reed was introduced briefly in Season 6 through Bran’s flashbacks at the Tower of Joy. However, his present day appearance has not been made. With Jon Snow King of the North and the Reed families’ sworn allegiance to House Stark these two are bound to meet. The reunion may spark belief in Bran’s vision about Jon being the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen.

8. Arya Stark and Gendry Baratheon 

Gendry is another on his way to Winterfell after teaming up with Jon Snow. Arya believes that he is dead after being sold for gold by the Brothers Without Banners to Melisandre. Gendry is the only one who has been able to call Arya a “lady” and, more importantly, to call her “my lady.” The reunion between the two will be filled with witty banter and elated feelings to see each other alive.

9. Daenerys Targaryen and Viserion

Probably the most bittersweet reunion will be The Mother of Dragons and her child, Viserion. Resurrected by the Wight King, Viserion will be making his way to Westeros after demolishing the wall. Knowing for seasons now that there will be a war of ice and fire, Drogon and Daenerys will battle against Viserion and the Wight King. This is something that will be conflicting for Daenerys and her dragon.
